  • Condition: This RARE Bunnell Learner's Outfit Key On Board with simple Beeko sheet metal frames on the key and sounder, has been cleaned, polished & tested. It includes a 3 VDC power supply so you will be able to relive those thrilling days of learning "the Morse" using a sounder. This set was likely used by an aspiring student who wanted to enter the telegraph trade for W.U. Telegraph Co., Postal Telegraph, the railroad or press services. Most of these sets were destroyed due to their simplicity.

    FEATURES:
    (1) ECONOMY Bunnell  Parts & Design for those learning the Morse

    :   B G00D overall for a KOB that is about 100 years old (1) the chrome plated sending arm shows tarnish & blemishes. (2) the brass screws, nuts,  sounder frame and circuit closing switch have been hand polished & look G00D with 0RIGINAL BRASS PATINA. J.H. BUNNELL ID info on the Sounder Arm are EASY to READ (3) the satin finish on the top of the wood base looks G00D with minor blemishes & scratches. PATENTED & 5 OHMS which are stamped into the wood are EASY to READ. The bottom of the wood base and hardware looks GOOD
    (4) the black painted metal Beeko key & sounder frames look G00D with minor blemishes & rust spots. Much of the original gold pin striping is still visible. (5) The plastic knobs look OK, but there are minor scratches & blemishes on both.  ***PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PICTURES, BECAUSE THEY ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE DESCRIPTION***
    MALFUNCTIONS:
    <1> When this Key On Board became part of my COLLECTION,  it was partially disassembled, cleaned, hand polished & lubricated. <2> the wood base received cleaning and polishing. <3> I then located a suitable power supply to make it usable
    This VINTAGE  Bunnell KOB with Beeko sounder & key, would make an 0UTSTANDING ADDITION to ANY COLLECTION.
    COMMENTS:
    This inexpensive KOB was designed for entry level Morse learners. The stamped metal frames on the Beeko Sounder & Key are VERY BASIC, but work very well. MOST OF THESE SETS WERE DISGARDED BECAUSE THEY WERE THOUGHT OF AS "TOYS" & NOT SUITABLE for USE ONCE THE CODE WAS MASTERED. AS A RESULT, THEY ARE VERY HARD TO FIND! This one looks quite nice & works very well with the included power supply. With the power supply disconnected, the straight key sends nicely via a ham radio transmitter.
