Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1969 Volkswagen Karmann Beetle Cabriolet! The Beetle has an incredibly deep history dating all the way back until the 30s era! With a team lead by Ferdinand Porsche the “people's car" debuted in 1938. Over the next decade the car became widely known in its home country as the Käfer (German for "beetle"). With subtle changes over the years across many generations the Beetle is the longest-running and most manufactured car of a single platform ever made! Here we have a '69 Model, and a Karmann Cabriolet to boot. Karmann Cabriolet's are highly sought after over standard beetle convertibles as they have better reinforcement to strengthen the body with the loss of the top. Along with other nice aesthetics options only available with the Karmann. The vin or for this year the chassis number does start with 15 which signifies the Karmann Cabriolet.
This Beetle is one of the nicest that we have ever seen here! Subjected to a full frame off restoration, mechanicals, fresh interior, body work and paint was all completed in 2019 by Rocco's Automotive Resurrection, a top VW restorer out of Ohio. The yellow paint looks great the black vinyl interior hardly looks used. Lift the rear cover and you'll find a very clean engine bay with a nicely restored 4-cylinder engine. Power is on tap through a 4-speed manual gearbox. Photos of the restoration are available upon request.
The current owner has had her for over 32 years! Acquired from the original owner that bought it new making this only a 2-owner Beetle! The title is clean and clear and ready to be transferred into your name now. The Beetle is one of the greatest automotive successes in history. If you are in search of a really cool, fun to drive convertible, one with real history this Beetle is for you! Options on this Beetle include: Manual Convertible top, Vinyl Interior, AM Radio, and Seat belts. [ omitted ]. [ omitted ].
