    Description

    The 1977 Maximo Gomez 20 Pesos 26 grams, 39.0 mm, .925 Silver Proof Coin (Graded PF68 Ultra Cameo by NGC – Top Pop).  The obverse features the portrait of Maximo Gomez, date and mintmark on left; circular legends: figure name on top, event name on bottom.  The reverse features coat of arms, modified, has 2 flags on each side instead of the oak branch and laurel wreath on official coat.  Circular legends: country name on top. face value on bottom, weight and fineness on sides.
    Máximo Gomez (1836-1905) born at Dominican Republic who fought against Spanish forces in the first independence war.
    This beautiful and rare coin is in excellent condition.
