ANTIQUE 1850’S MILLINERS PAPER MACHE WOODEN LEGS & ARMS GREINER 15” DOLL**WOW!!
This is an antique 1820’s-1860’s Milliners Paper Mache Greiner style doll.  The doll is about 15” tall with carved wooden legs, feet, arms and hands.  The doll has black painted hair with sausage curls around the bottom and parted in the center.    Her hair has some paint chipping, mostly on the top, as shown int he pictures.    The doll has painted blue eyes, some reddish faint lipstick and her cheeks are rosy.  Her face and the back of her hair have some slight wear from over the years.   She has a paper mache shoulder plate head on a leather body with leather upper arms and legs.    She has wooden lower legs with painted blue slippers with some wear on her feet.  There are lines around the angels where the legs attach to the legs as shown in the pictures that are probably original to the doll.  The upper parts of the legs under the pantaloons are lighter in color.  The bottom of the legs have darkened from time.    Her hands are carved with her thumbs free and the rest of her fingers are together.  The doll is wearing a loosely woven green top and skirt with blue trim on the bottom and sleeves with a blue fabric belt around the middle.    The skirt is gathered around the waist and the top has ivory netting around the neckline with a pink bow and a dark metal cross around her neck.  The dress has some tears around the bottom as shown in the pictures.  There are missing threads and many small holes or openings in the fabric of the dress from over the years.  There are two off white half slips and a pair of lace trimmed pantaloons.  The under garments have some brown spots and or areas from years of dust and dirt that may or may not come out.   This amazing Antique Milliners Paper Mache Greiner Style Doll  appears to be in good used antique condition, except as noted and is offered as is.
