  • Condition: This doll is absolutely AMAZING. Check out the Wikipedia article on Virginia Dare, America's first white child born in 1857. She has obviously been stored away in her box for a very long time. She has a musty smell, her apron, pinafore, and lace on her dress are yellowed but nothing else is wrong with this doll. Her head is what I believe to be paper mache and her facial paint is perfect. She has her original tag and her price tags. Her box is dirty and some of the paper is peeling off. She has composition arms and legs with a cloth torso. She appears to have never been out of her box. This doll is Patent Pending according to the arm tag. What a find!!

    YOU ARE PURCHASING AN AMAZING 1930s PATENT PENDING 15" VIRGINIA DARE PAPER MACHE/COMPOSITION/CLOTH HANDMADE DOLL.  ACCORDING TO HER ARM TAG SHE WAS CREATED IN REMEMBERANCE OF VIRGINIA DARE, THE FIRST WHITE CHILD BORN IN 1857 IN THE NEW WORLD.  SHE WAS PURCHASED AT THE LOST COLONY GIFT SHOP AS A SOUVENIR.
