    Description

    Lot of knobbed whelks (subspecies kiener) dead collected after the recent storms near the Northeast FL coast.  Great colors and striping!
    The Kiener Whelk is a different form of the Knobbed Whelk and is distinguished from the Knobbed Whelk by having more curved knobs and a swelling near the lower part of the body whorl.
