MACKAY RADIO Ship's Emergency Distress Automated Morse Keyer - Type 5100-C No 2

For Sale:
A MACKAY RADIO Ship's Emergency Distress Automated Morse Keyer - Type 5100-C.  When attached to the ship's 12VDC battery, and when patched or plugged into the 500 KC LF transmitter, the 5100C keyer provided automated distress signaling and was a minimum requirement by Merchant Marine authorities from early in the 20th century.  The need was so recognized that transmitting equipment and transmitting antennas were duplicated so that there would be no excuse for its not being used when needed.  Every radio officer started his day by ensuring the 500 kc equipment was online and operating as intended.  The keyer was checked and once all this had been done, it was noted in the daily log.  The operator then went on to finish checking and testing the message trafficking gear.
This is the last Mackay 5100C that I have to sell.  If you are a collector of Morse devices, this one will interest you.  In a future auction I will list a Radiomarine version used in the famous 4U installations.
Condition:
Collector grade and very nice.  Used, inspected and not powered up.  We have no schematic for it.  However, the power input connector (6 Jones pins) is obvious and along side the keying/control connector pins.  A schematic would show options but unfortunately, we do not have one.  Assume anything this old will require servicing.
