Description:
The splendid silver coin depicting the miracle of Jesus Christ’s birth is a part of Biblical Stories series. The coin was issued by Republic of Palau in 2012 in limited mintage of only 1000 items, so it is quite rare collectible one. The Jesus’ birth is a very popular biblical story, well-known by most of the people. Thanks to it all the images and symbols of coin’s reverse are easily recognizable. There is Mary holding the newborn Jesus in her hands minted in the center. The haloes of the Holy family are colored with yellow enamel. Around the central figures there are angels and animals placed as well as the numerous ornate stars. The main Christmas Star is struck at the bottom of the reverse and the name of the story is scripted below along the rim. The year of issue is indicated at the top. The obverse shows the open Holy Bible with radiant rays and the name of the series at the bottom. The Palau Republic’s Coat of Arms is placed in a circle together with country’s name and face value of the coin (2$).
