RARE & BEAUTIFUL Voluta sunderlandi from Utila 43mm

Description

Up for auction is a super rare and exceptional specimen of Voluta sunderlandi, right at 43mm by my calipers, from the type locality of Utila Island, Honduras. Really nice pink coloration and super condition. Overall a wonderful and very difficult to obtain species.  From the glory trips of Utila from long ago when divers like Masino, Sunderland, Harland, Everson, Pace, et.al. were doing the exciting new field work in this area.   The island is now a protected park and shell collecting is prohibited without special licensure.  Night SCUBA, exact data accompanies
