Sailors Valentine "SERENITY"

Description

The name of this Sailors Valentine is Serenity. Handcrafted in a six by six inch box made of Mahogany wood. The center of this Valentine features a small white bird sitting on a branch surrounded with miniature flowers. The bird sits on a background of abalone shell encircled with pearls.
A five pointed star of pink chitons surround the center. There are five sections of gar scales in between the star points. The star points are decorated with mini volva shells.
A wreath of small and miniature flowers circle the star. The flowers consist of cup shells, sea urchin spines, lilac shells, pink opeculums, gar scales, pearls,Venetian pearls and Florida tellins. A ring of miniature sand dollars finishes off the edge of this Valentine.
Serenity is covered with glass to protect the shell artistry. This Sailors Valentine can be hung or displayed on an easel. There is a hanger on the back. I use shells from all over the world and the finest hand made boxes made with the finest hardwoods.
I am a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. My Sailors Valentines have won several awards at the Sanibel Shell Show, Sanibel Island Florida.
