The Ditting KF 804 has only been used in a household setting. The manufacturer's plate on the back gives a date of 10-2008 but it was purchased new in 2012. It is still like new in all respects. Using the 15,000 pound rule applied to how I used this grinder, I reckon it would take me 288 years before I required a new set of burrs. the grinding rate is 500 g a minute, just over a pound.
The open hopper is to show the position of the magnet (red colour) under the grate. I only used this machine for grinding small amounts when I needed so if you do a lot of test brews this is also a good 'lab' machine because it can be quickly cleaned and vacuumed between different roasts. The hopper is held in place by two screws, but to remove it you only loosen the left screw (viewed from the back) so the tiny metal flap that holds the hopper in its locked position swings down and the hopper is removed by a short turn counterclockwise.  Three screws are then revealed that hold a substantial piece of metal AKA the flange, containing the upper stationary 80 mm burr. When that comes away you have access to the grinding chamber and both burrs. This takes about a minute.
The grind selector wheel lists French Press, Metal Filter, Paper Filter, Espresso, and Turkish grinds as predetermined positions. It also includes a numerical scale from 1 through 9.

I am selling this great machine because I can no longer drink coffee and have given up my roasting hobby.
