    Description

I have owned this Vibroplex semi-automatic telegraph key (known as a "bug") for more than 60 years.  I bought it used with case around 1960.
The case was made by Luce Packwood of Kansas City, MO.
The latest patent listed on the gold plate is 1445226, which the USPTO lists as dated February 13, 1923.
According to the list created by John Elwood, WW7P, this "Original" model, #110661, was made in 1937.
It has been in storage for many years in a smoke-free home.  Please see the pictures to get an idea of the condition.  I think it is in very good condition for a key that is almost 100 years old, but you can judge for yourself from the pictures.  As you can see I soldered on extra wires to improve connections rather than rely on the screw-down posts.  I used this to satisfy the CW requirements for Amateur Extra class license.  I hesitate to part with it but we are retired and on a fixed income and need to sell items we are no longer using for extra income and we are downsizing and have to clear out so much of our stuff that I have to give it up along with many other items such as speakers, vacuum tubes, test equipment, etc.  I have set the Buy-It-Now price on the basis of recently sold similar items on ebay.   I really need to sell this so please do not hesitate to make an offer.  AA5UQ
